Alisa Cubic first discovered yoga on PBS Chicago TV every day after elementary school. The teacher looked so peaceful, yet strong. She wanted to be just like her. She dove into the spirituality of it all, and it continued through to her adult life. Life happened though and she found herself separated from yoga asanas until a romantic winter reunion happened in 2013 at Yoga By Degrees. Alisa decided it was time to get serious about, not just her mind and spirit, but her body as well. What better way than to get certified to teach yoga? The yoga community provided her with the space to get to know herself deeper than she ever dreamt possible, all while allowing her to be her. Alisa hopes to bring this same safe haven to her vinyasa and restorative classes: love, kindness, joy and acceptance. Alisa is 200 hour certified in yoga since 2014 & has since then received further certification in Yoga Sculpt as of February 2016.

Alka Kaminer

Alka Kaminer strives to help cultivate happiness and health through yoga, meditation and energy healing.  Having come from India, a culture steeped in the valued traditions of yoga, she brings an energetic approach to movement and a quiet dedication in service to meditation and restorative work.  Alka is a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance and certified (200RYT) in Hatha Yoga. She has additional certifications in Restorative and Chair Yoga instruction.

The American Viniyoga Institute, under the leadership of Gary Kraftsow, offers authentic and ancient teachings for personal practice as well as aspiring teachers and yoga therapists.

 

Having resided in the confines of the Midwest for 25 years, it was time to try something new.

Andy's yoga journey began upon his move to San Diego from Iowa in 2014. While he spent most of his time exploring and getting to know his new community through traditional fitness (i.e., running, hiking, biking, etc.). He also found some Southern California inspiration along the way and took up yoga and surf as almost daily practices. 

Angela Lyn is a 200-hour alignment based, Hatha yoga teacher. She teaches beginners, mixed level, slow flow, prenatal, restorative, and yin yoga classes.

Annetta is a multifaceted yoga teacher (E RYT 200, YogaWorks RYT 500) with over 1000 hours of training and multiple certifications in a variety of styles of yoga. She specializes in alignment based Vinyasa Flow, Gentle yoga, Yin yoga and Restorative yoga. She began practicing yoga in 1999, after some years away from the ballet barre, and she was immediately hooked due to the grounding, healing and transformative effect yoga had upon her. Throughout her yoga journey she has studied and practiced: Bikram, Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative yoga, in studios, workshops and colleges around Northern California. 



Annetta's private, corporate, public classes and workshops are fun, educational, intuitive, thoughtfully sequenced and well balanced. She emphasizes breath and alignment to encourage students to develop a safe, sustainable and transformative practice. She teaches challenging Vinyasa flow, healing Hatha, nourishing Restorative & Yin yoga classes to all levels and ages. Her teaching is inspired by her own therapeutic practice, which she uses to build energy and restore balance. 



Her goal as a teacher is to SEE her students and perceive and teach what they really need. Yoga is much more than just exercise (asana) to Annetta. It is a complete lifestyle, that includes all 8 limbs, which lead her daily to greater self-love, awareness, health, happiness, peace, and bliss.

April’s teachings encourage students to unravel the connections between conscious movement, intention, and philosophy and embrace yoga as a way of life. In each class, April offers an experience that balances individual attention with collective energy, a combination that inspires students to discover their unique, innate potential and incorporate that into their everyday lives.

Arlynn found her yoga practice while looking to balance the demands of working and living in New York City. A wellness enthusiast with an active lifestyle, she fell in love with the physical, emotional and spiritual benefits yoga provides. With a background spanning martial arts, field hockey, water and winter sports, Arlynn promotes a holistic relationship with movement in her practice and instruction.
