Swami Satchidananda (1914-2002) founded Integral Yoga after studying intensively with Swami Sivananda. He brought yoga to the United States in 1966. Integral Yoga is focused on helping a student return to their "natural condition." Swami Satchidananda describes a persons natural condition as a sense of strength and health, calm and clear mind, loving unconditionally, and a life filled with joy. Its aim is to help each person realize the harmony that can arise from spiritual unity. A typical practice will incorporate chanting, pranayama, poses, deep relaxation, and meditation. Integral Yoga is accessible to all people no matter of your size, shape, age, or physical condition. Modifications are consistently given and students are encouraged to move at their own pace.
