Swami Kripalu (1913-1981) was a Kundalini Yoga master who developed Kripalu Yoga. His teachings and yoga postures came to him after a spiritual awakening from his own intensive practice of mediation, pranayama, and yoga. The primary aim of Kripalu Yoga practice is to awaken the prana (life force energy) that will enable you to thrive in all aspects of your life. Kripalu is geared toward students who are interested in their own experience to guide their yoga practice. A teacher is merely a guide to help a student through asana, breath work, and meditation. Class styles can vary from gentle yoga for seniors to strenuous yoga. Teachers will always encourage students to listen to the messages their bodies are giving and let that be the guide to the practice. Kripalu encourages people to develop their own inner wisdom in all areas of their lives.
Fall in Love with Yoga and Hawaii during one of our 25 Day Immersion Training on Hawaii's Big Island. Our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Trainings take place in a fun and creative environment where you will have the time and space to dive deeper into your practice and learn to spread your Love of Yoga. Peak Beings Yoga is a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance and all graduating teachers will be qualified to register with the Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher. We also offer this same training in Mexico and Brazil.
