Restorative yoga is devoted to helping a person drop into deep relaxation. A typical class will include four to six floor poses held passively. Restorative Yoga uses a lot of props such as bolsters, straps, blocks, eye pillows, and blankets to support the person in each pose. Comfort is key when actively relaxing. Savaasana is usually 20 minutes allowing the person to rest completely and deeply. Restorative yoga might best be described as a supported conscious relaxation practice. Restorative yoga offers many benefits that can help a person with many different ailments such as insomnia, asthma, migraines, and chronic pain. This type of yoga is incredibly healing and beneficial to all body types.

Samdhaana Yoga Teacher Training is an integrative study of yoga philosophy, anatomy and anatomical movement, sequencing of the Asana practice, and the dynamics of teaching. Samdhaana trainees gain the knowledge of creative sequencing and rotational movement on the mat. It can be taught in multiple formats, beginner, alignment-based, or vinyasa.

Our 200 Hour Program includes Alignment Based Vinyasa Flow, Therapeutic Elements, & the Path of Yoga as a Framework for Holistic Health. Vineyard Arts Project is an arts and wellness retreat space located on the beautiful island of Martha's Vineyard. Alisa Cubic first discovered yoga on PBS Chicago TV every day after elementary school. The teacher looked so peaceful, yet strong. She wanted to be just like her. She dove into the spirituality of it all, and it continued through to her adult life. Life happened though and she found herself separated from yoga asanas until a romantic winter reunion happened in 2013 at Yoga By Degrees. Alisa decided it was time to get serious about, not just her mind and spirit, but her body as well. What better way than to get certified to teach yoga? The yoga community provided her with the space to get to know herself deeper than she ever dreamt possible, all while allowing her to be her. Alisa hopes to bring this same safe haven to her vinyasa and restorative classes: love, kindness, joy and acceptance. Alisa is 200 hour certified in yoga since 2014 & has since then received further certification in Yoga Sculpt as of February 2016.
Alka Kaminer strives to help cultivate happiness and health through yoga, meditation and energy healing. Having come from India, a culture steeped in the valued traditions of yoga, she brings an energetic approach to movement and a quiet dedication in service to meditation and restorative work. Alka is a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance and certified (200RYT) in Hatha Yoga. She has additional certifications in Restorative and Chair Yoga instruction.
I have always been interested in healing. I came to yoga while working a rewarding but highly stressful job. I was also seeking an option for low impact fitness, since a serious lower body military injury chronically limited me in some activities. Through yoga, I found improved physical strength, flexibility, and balance. What surprised me was also finding an immense sense of calm, and healing in body, mind and spirit, whether through vigorous flow, gentle restorative yoga, or breath work. I felt benefits both on and off the mat.
I am a Ct based traveling yoga instructor. I hold certifications as a Registered Children's Yoga Teacher (RCYT), completing a 95 hour training and I have completed my 200 hour training as well making me a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200). Candie Crespo is an avid practitioner who is drawn to the core technique of the Krishnamacharya lineage (asana, bandha, pranayama, meditation) while being true to the other streams of influence that have deepened her experience of yoga. In 2011, she trained in the Hatha Tradition at the Yoga Vidya Gurukul Ashram and University in Nasik, India and then decided to continue her education with studies in Yoga Nidra and Kundalini. In 2014, she became a certified Aerial Yoga Instructor through Art of Flying Aerial in Torrance and continued onto level 2 in 2016.
My style merges strength and flexibility with moving meditation. This style of practice pulls my students into the present moment and encourages them to be mindful with where they are in their bodies now. My intentions and themes in class will aid you in your yogic lifestyle and path. I teach in ways that allow my students to sink deeper into their asana poses while remaining open and present. My energy creates a healing and supportive space that is key to a deeply connected personal practice.

Centered Yoga began cultivating students into teachers in 1999, first based in New York City, and since 2002 from its current home in Thailand. It has, in effect, been a leader in the field of yogic education and training. In recent years a plethora of programs have popped up all over the world. You, as the interested student looking to train are now presented with a disarray of choices. We are not here to “sell” you on our program, nor convince you, as anyone who applies has to go through an involved application process. We seek sincere students.

Christina is a Yoga Alliance certified RYT-200 and insured yoga instructor. She completed her training at Lotus House of Yoga in Lincoln, NE in 2015, and began teaching in early 2016. Christina specializes in Vinyasa and Astanga yoga, with additional training in Yin, Restorative, and yoga for special popluations.
I specialize in Restorative, Yin and Hatha Yoga and work primarily with women over the age of 45. My signature program is "Yoga For Osteoporosis". This program helps women reverse Osteoporosis naturally so they can take control of their health without the harsh side effects of pharmaceutical drugs.
I have been practicing yoga since 2004 and earned my certification through the Amrit Yoga Institute, studying with Master Yogi Amrit Desai.
