Swami Vishnu-devananda(1927-1993) developed Sivananda Yoga after being a primary student of Swami Sivananda (1887-1963). This practice is designed to raise and elevate a person’s consciousness. The yoga focuses on five fundamental principles: asana, pranayama, deep relaxation (Savasana), vegetarianism, positive thinking, and mediation. The classes are relatively gentle and are suitable for all body types. The practice of yoga poses is solely dedicated to a person’s spiritual development. Each class focuses on the practice of the 12 core poses plus chanting, breathing, mediation, and corpse pose.

Vineyard Arts Project is an arts and wellness retreat space located on the beautiful island of Martha's Vineyard. The center features two incredible 2,000 square foot yoga studios with high lofted barn ceilings and sprung floors. The center has a total of 23 luxurious bedrooms with private en-suite baths, communal dining and living rooms, a spacious kitchen, and expansive sun deck and yard. Available to rent for week-long yoga, fitness, and wellness retreats from May - October each year.

The Sivananda Yoga Farm Ashram is a nonprofit, volunteer organization, open year-round to both guests and aspirants. Founded by Swami Vishnudevananda, disciple of Swami Sivananda, in 1971, our beautiful, natural setting of 80 acres is located along the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California.  We offer a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification Course, as well as a sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation.
