Vinyasa Flow Yoga Directory

Welcome to the Yoga Journal Vinyasa Flow Yoga Directory page. In this section you will find yoga studios, retreat centers, and teachers who specialize or incorporate Vinyasa Flow Yoga into their practice and philosophy.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a style of yoga that concentrates on a dynamic connecting posture that then creates a flow between the more traditional yoga poses. Through breath, the movement of the posture and the time the posture is held can be determined. Vinyasa Flow is a variation of the Sun Salutation or Sūrya namaskāra and this entire practice can be characterized by six series of postures that are always done in the same order and are shared with special breathing called ujjāyī breathing . The purpose of this style of yoga is to create heat within the body which then leads to sweating and ultimately purification of the body. Vinyasa Flow Yoga can improve flexibility and strength with a reduced risk of injury.

Teaching yoga for over 18 years, Lyn was the first to bring Power Yoga to the area. While her personal practice began with Ashtanga and she still stays grounded in the foundational elements of that practice, Bryan Kest and Baron Baptiste have both been a guiding force behind her teaching. She is grateful to both for encouraging her to trust and listen to her own internal voice of wisdom.
