As human consciousness evolves, our understanding of our deep connection with the natural world also grows. Through yoga we discover keys within ourselves that naturally begin to heal our hearts, minds, bodies, and by effortless extension, the world around us. Through Pavones Yoga Center's unique 26-day intensive yoga teacher training in Costa Rica, we merge the physical and contemplative practice of yoga with principles of conscious living that are crucial to long-term survival of life on our planet.

For 35 years Deborah and David have lived life exploring remote regions of the world, leading international yoga adventures, retreats, teacher trainings; studying with yogis, healers and medicine people; teaching, mentoring in yoga, wilderness and sustainable living.

She specializes in alignment based Vinyasa Flow, Gentle yoga, Yin yoga and Restorative yoga. She began practicing yoga in 1999, after some years away from the ballet barre, and she was immediately hooked due to the grounding, healing and transformative effect yoga had upon her. Throughout her yoga journey she has studied and practiced: Bikram, Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Yin and Restorative yoga, in studios, workshops and colleges around Northern California.

Her goal as a teacher is to SEE her students and perceive and teach what they really need. Yoga is much more than just exercise (asana) to Annetta. It is a complete lifestyle, that includes all 8 limbs, which lead her daily to greater self-love, awareness, health, happiness, peace, and bliss.

Indira Kate Kalmbach, Founder, Pavones Yoga Center Costa Rica.. Nature-based yoga teacher trainings

Indira Kate Kalmbach understands yoga as a physical, mental, and emotional discipline with the potential to transform human being-ness. Her yoga teaching embodies an ecological sense of the world-community which includes all of nature, exiling nothing. Through a seamless weaving of physical alignment, emotional attuning, and a deep understanding of the human psyche, Indira creates inspiring yoga classes that invite students to practice radical self-acceptance and to leave class feeling fully present, grounded and awakened.

My yoga journey started many moons ago when my Mom suggested my sister and I take a class.  I don't remember much about the class itself, but I do recall speaking enthusiastically about it afterward.  I also remember the smell of the satsuma oil that was burned throughout the class, and the various intrigues of my teacher that day, who wore endless strings of beads around her neck and had glittery, bright eyes and really wild curly hair.  Most strikingly, I felt calm.
