Kathleen's first yoga instructor was her mother, who began teaching yoga when Kathleen was a teenager. Kathleen found yoga extremely helpful for her back pain related to scoliosis. She introduced it to many friends during college to reduce stress and dove deeper into her practice during a semester abroad in India. She enjoys sharing her love of yoga with others by helping them gain greater body awareness and most importantly, relax.
Yoga taught me so much about myself and has filled me with self-acceptance and self-compassion, which is why I love to share this with others! I completed my 230 hour training at the Yoga Center of Minneapolis in March of 2016 and am continuing my advanced 300 hour training there as well. I teach with a heavy focus on mindfulness to help students to bring awareness to body, mind, and spirit. I have my Masters in Counseling Psychology and am a Mental Health Practitioner working towards my License in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Keri Honea has, in all honesty, not been practicing yoga for decades. She was talked into trying out yoga with a friend in 2014. Keri begrudgingly went, strongly believing that yoga was just a bunch of hippie dippie baloney. By her first class, she was HOOKED. A few months in, she wanted to be a teacher. Yoga completely changed her life. As such, she couldn’t keep it all to herself. She had to share yoga with others and hopefully change their lives the way only yoga can.

Certified YA 200hr, and Certified Mindful Resilience for Trauma Recovery through the Veterans Yoga Project. I have been teaching yoga since 2013. My personal yoga practice is Ashtanga. I love the alignment required in the poses, and I stress the importance of alignment in my classes. I live daily with Multiple Sclerosis and love to help others to reach their potential regardless of lifes setbacks. I currently teach at Fitness Plus, the certified fitness center at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
I use my background in pole fitness to create challenging and evolutionary Vinyasa sequences that flow like a dance to celebrate the grace and beauty of the human body. I stay within proper alignment and use pranayama breathing techniques to help students connect to their practice. Heightened engagement allows students to focus, connect, and listen to their bodies. This connections creates strength, balance, increased flexibility, and clears the mind.
